BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves the submission of the Phase
2 Safe Restart Funding Program.

Item 8C - Fire Department Resolution
WHEREAS Council received an update on Fire Department activities from
both, the Fire Chief and Police Chief;
AND WHEREAS as a result of those updates Council believes that
changes to the structure of the volunteer Fire Brigades are warranted:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Fire Chief be directed to
amend the existing Fire Department by-law that will mandate the
volunteer brigades to be trained on, follow and adhere to all City of
Timmins policies; amend how the District Chiefs and Officers of the
Brigades are appointed and include measures for increased oversight and
accountability for the Volunteer Brigades;
AND FURTHER that the volunteer remuneration system be restructured
to a fair and equitable system that would see all the volunteer brigades
across the city paid an hourly rate, as determined by Council, for their
service.
